SHAH ALAM, Oct 18 — Selangor is on the quest to beat Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in the Malaysia Cup semi-final tomorrow.

Coach B. Sathianathan said though taking on JDT won’t be an easy feat, he said he believes the players give their very best performance for the game.

“The players have to give more than 100 per cent effort into the game. It is not impossible for us to make it if we do our best.

“In this game, we cannot take for granted when we achieve just an extra goal as we know their strength. If we do achieve that [extra goal], it would be difficult for us but we still stand a chance.

“I find that the players are calm to face this game as it isn’t easy to be facing such a strong team,” he told SelangorKini when met, yesterday.

Due to the rainy season, Sathianathan said it has had an impact on the practice sessions, however, he said it was not an excuse for the team to not perform their best.

Selangor had booked their berth in the semi-final after recording a 3-2 aggregate win over Perak in second leg of the quarter-finals at the Shah Alam Stadium on September 29.

Selangor will take on JDT in first leg of the semi-finals in Larkin, Johor, and the return leg is scheduled on October 26 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
