Water supply restoration in Hulu Langat at 60 per cent today

SHAH ALAM, Oct 14 — Restoration of water supply in several areas in the Hulu Langat district affected by unscheduled disruptions was at 60 per cent at 6am, today.

Air Selangor Customer Relations and Communications Department head Abdul Raof Ahmad said necessary steps and actions were taken to speed up the restoration process while emergency water assistance continues to be provided to affected customers.

“Water tank trucks will continue to be mobilised and the three local service centres will operate 24 hours until the water supply is fully restored,” he said in a statement today.

The local services centres are located in Balakong, Bandar Mahkota Cheras and Batu 14, Hulu Langat.

Yesterday, several areas in the Hulu Langat district had faced an unscheduled water supply disruption due to a faulty electrical system at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant.

The incident has caused five raw water pumps to be inoperable, which caused a decrease in treated water from the daily 470 MLD (million litres per day) to 180 MLD.

Some of the areas affected include Balakong, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Country Heights, Cheras Permai, Taman Megah and Kampung Sungai Ramal.

The public can refer to the Air Selangor mobile phone application for the latest update and status on the matter or contact the 15300 helplines or WhatsApp to 019-2800919 or 019-2816793 for further assistance.
