SHAH ALAM, Nov 6 — The booming aerospace industry in Subang has recorded a total RM91.5 million in investment, says Investment, Industrial and Trade and Transport state exco Datuk Teng Chang Khim.
He said the total investment involved three companies — Airod Techno Power Sdn Bhd, UPECA Aerotech Sdn Bhd and Afjets Sdn Bhd.
“The mechanism applied by the state government to ensure investment project proposals are accomplished is done through Invest Selangor, where continuous engagement with the relevant parties is carried out to receive feedback on the projects.
“Invest Selangor would also address the issues reported by agencies, organise meetings, coordinating with agencies as well as following up on the status and progress of the projects,” said Teng in response to a query posed by Kota Damansara assemblyman Shatiri Mansor at the state legislative assembly here today.
Yesterday, Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari told the state assembly that the Selangor government aims to achieve RM2 billion in revenue and create 75,000 job opportunities annually through the aerotropolis and aerospace industry by 2025.
He said that 62 per cent of the aerospace industry is based in Selangor, in which Subang contributes 34 per cent involving 70 companies out of the 200 companies nationwide.
He said at present, both the aerotropolis and aerospace industry has contributed RM1.7 billion in revenue and created 55,000 job opportunities yearly.
