SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — There are only 19 recipients out of the 958 persons nominated for awards and titles in conjunction with the 74th birthday celebrations of Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah this Wednesday.
Selangor State Secretary Datuk Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya said of the 19 recipients, only one is awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (S.P.M.S.) which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’.
There is also only one recipient for the Darjah Kebesaran Datuk Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (S.S.I.S.) award which carries the title ‘Datuk Setia’, he said in a statement here today.
Meanwhile, nine people are receiving the Darjah Kebesaran Datuk Paduka Mahkota Selangor (D.P.M.S.) award which carries the title ‘Datuk’.
Eight others will be receiving the Darjah Kebesaran Datuk-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (D.S.I.S.) which also carries the title ‘Datuk’.
Mohd Amin said all the recipients have been cleared by the security checks conducted by the police, the Insolvency Department and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
He added that this year, the state government received 2,268 applications and of these, 958 were nominated for awards and titles.
