SHAH ALAM, Dec 31 — A total of 401 schools in Selangor receives RM4.5 million aid from the Selangor government for maintenance and development costs.
State government secretary office education assistant secretary (Human Resource department) Siti Syazwani Ab Latib said the aid will be distributed in accordance with the second phase of the Program Agihan Bantuan Infrastruktur.
“Several measures such as the needs of a particular school will be taken into account in the selection process. Among the selected schools were Sekolah Agama Rakyat (SAR), Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Cina and Tamil, Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (SMJK) Cina and Tamil and Sekolah Mubaligh in Selangor.
“On average, each schools will be receiving aid between RM10,000 and RM20,000, depending on the damage requirements of the schools. Applicants are required to fill up the damage requirement form and would have to wait for approval from the Menteri Besar office,” she told reporters when met at the Friendly Session with Selangor School Recipients Second phase here yesterday.
In October, a total of 665 schools in Selangor received the aid in the first phase involving an allocation of RM19.2 million.
The program has been implemented since 2017 with an allocation of RM16 million, which was then increased to RM22 million. The fund was raised to RM24 million for 2018 and 2019.
