SHAH ALAM, Dec 26 — Selangor continues to get backings to host the Asia Challenge Cup 2020 next month, following the partnership with leading logistics management company ANF Logistic Sdn Bhd.

Its Director Meor Mohd Fadzlan said his organisation is optimistic about the Red Giants in becoming a team that would “sting” its opponents as well as one that would be “feared” in the upcoming international-level tournament on January 18 and 19.

He said the pre-season tournament would bring the air cargo forwarding and transport service provider to a higher stage.

“As a die-hard fan of the Red Giants, I trust the direction and leadership of the Selangor Football Association (FAS), which is helmed by Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.

“I would like to thank the FAS for giving us the opportunity to be part of the prestigious tournament. From the logistic aspect, hosting such a tournament would give us a chance to strengthen our relationships with the participants of the tournament,” he said in a statement today.

Besides ANF Logistic, other companies have also partnered with FAS to host the tournament, namely Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), Fuel Athletics Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines, Ekspres Mutiara and Avisena Specialist Hospital.

The tournament which will be held from 5pm to 11pm will involve neighbouring footballing giants such as Vietnamese V.League 1 champions Hanoi FC, Indonesia Liga 1 giants Persib Bandung and Thai League 1 club Bangkok United in the four-team tournament.

The points scoring system and goal tally for the players will be done in accordance with Emirates Cup, a famous European pre-season tournament hosted by the English club Arsenal.

As a reward, the champion will bring home US$10,000 (RM41,353.81) and the runner-up will be able to win US$5,000 (RM20,676.91), together with the Royal Selangor trophy.

The Red Giants fans can purchase their tickets via FAS online website as cheap as RM15 (for Selangor team cardholders) and RM30 (for non-card holders) and RM5 (for children).
