MB: Selangor aims to achieve 46 pct smart state initiative by year-end

SERI KEMBANGAN, Jan 29 — The Selangor government aims to achieve 46 per cent of the smart state (Smart Selangor) initiative by the end of the year.

Its Menteri Besar Dato’ Sero Amirudin Shari said the 12 domains to achieve the overall initiative, managed by the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) since 2016, would be implemented in stages.

“As of last November, 26 per cent of the initiatives had been implemented and we expect to achieve 46 per cent by year-end.

“Efforts to implement the 12 domains, which includes e-wallet, environmental management, as well as the state’s economy and administration, has been done in stages since 2016,” Amirudin said when met after the closing ceremony of the Perkampungan Menara Gading Selangor programme at Universiti Putra Malaysia, here yesterday.

Selangor aspires to become Southeast Asia’s premier smart state by 2025, leveraging on smart technology and innovations under 12 domains.

The SSDU is expected to ramp up its work within the next five years to ensure all the initiatives could be executed.
