GOMBAK, Jan 14 — The Selangor government will ensure that the youths are prepared to face the Industrial Revolution 4.0, or 4IR, in line with the state’s aspiration in achieving the smart state status by 2025.

Its Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said he hopes that Selangor would be able to achieve the smart state vision and remain competitive at the global stage.

“We need to prepare the young Selangorians in facing the fourth revolution.

“When 4IR is already upon us and connecting us with the global mass, there will be more job opportunities acquiring the economy that requires the most up to date knowledge, skills and tools,” he said when delivering his speech at the launch of the Gombak district public library, here today.

Also present were state Health, Welfare, Women Empowerment and Family Committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud and Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) director Mastura Muhamad.

Amirudin said the state government policy has placed an importance on education as one of the main focus towards becoming a smart state.

“Libraries are one of the crucial transformation agents in achieving the Selangor smart state aspiration.

“Selangor has some of the best libraries, both in rural and urban areas. These libraries are like bricks that would shape the future of the state,” he said.
