World-class shows included in Selangor CNY celebration

SHAH ALAM, Jan 21 — A number of world-class shows have been included in the Selangor-level 2020 Chinese New Year (CNY) open house on February 1 which will be graced by Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

State Investment, Industry, Trade, Small-and Medium-Sized Industries Committee chairman, Datuk Teng Chang Khim, said that the event which is being organised by Invest Selangor Bhd at Dataran Petaling Jaya will run from 7pm to 10.30pm.

“Every year, we focus on entertainment to attract a lot of visitors. That is why 70 – 80 per cent of the entertainment programme this year will be professional and world-standard performances,” he said at a press conference yesterday, adding there will also be a lion dance and traditional performances.

Attendees can also look forward to many types of food from 28 stalls, while the tradition of giving out ang pow to children aged 12 and below will be continued.

For the convenience of the 12,000 expected attendees, a free PJ City Bus service will be provided by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) till midnight from selected locations, while 3,709 parking lots will be available near Amcorp Mall and the event site.
