Covid-19: Tally at 91 in Singapore, 58 discharged

SINGAPORE, Feb 26 — Singapore Health Ministry (MOH) yesterday has confirmed and verified one more case of Covid-19 infection in the republic which is linked to the cluster at The Life Church and Missions Singapore.

In a statement here, the MOH said the 91st case for the republic is a 58-year-old female Singapore citizen who has no recent travel history to China.

The statement said she is linked to Case 66, a 28-year-old male Singapore citizen with no recent travel history to China and was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on February 14.

As she had been identified as a contact of Case 66, she was referred by the MOH to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) on February 18 and subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on February 22.

The new case increased the number of cases linked to The Life Church and Missions Singapore at Paya Lebar Road to eight.

Besides that, the MOH said six cases from the church cluster are now linked to another 23 confirmed cases which are linked to the Grace Assembly of God.

Meanwhile, nine other cases linked to the cluster associated with medical shop Yong Thai Hang; three to the private business meeting held at Grand Hyatt Singapore; and five to Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site.

According to the MOH, five more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospital yesterday, bringing the tally to 58 with one of them is the 91st case herself.

Of the 33 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital, the ministry said most are stable or improving while the number of patient in critical condition in the intensive care unit remained seven.

As at noon, the MOH has identified 2,846 close contacts who have been quarantined, of these, 371 are currently quarantined, and 2,475 have completed their quarantine.
