KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 — The much-awaited economic stimulus package 2020 will be announced as scheduled by the Interim Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at 4 pm tomorrow in Putrajaya.
A media invitation from the Ministry of Finance confirmed the event.
Earlier, Dr Mahathir tweeted that he attended a meeting with the Finance Ministry’s top officials in regards to the tabling of the Economic Stimulus Package.
The package aimed to stimulate Malaysia’s economy and mitigate any adverse repercussions arising from the Covid-19 outbreak and other external uncertainties.
The economic aid is designed mainly for the aviation, retailing and tourism sectors to cushion adverse repercussions from the coronavirus infections, which originated from Wuhan, China.
