Job Vaganza 2020 to offer more than 1,000 jobs

by Sheeda Fathil

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 24 — More than 1,000 job opportunities are being offered in conjunction with the Selangor Job Vaganza 2020 career fair, held at Bukit Melawati, Kuala Selangor, on March 15.

Bukit Melawati assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli said the job fair, which will be held at the Kuala Selangor indoor sports complex, aims to create more jobs for youths in her constituency and to reduce the unemployment rate.

“We are cooperating with the Selangor Youth, Sports, and Human Capital Development Committee, the Social Security Organisation (Socso) and Qwork Base Malaysia to provide employment platform especially for the youths,” she told SelangorKini when contacted yesterday.

The carnival, which runs from 9am to 5.30pm, also includes exciting competitions and activities such as penalty kicks, netball, golf, free motorcycle black oil change for the first 300 people and busker performances.

Event-goers would also have the chance to get more information on the ‘Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat’ (People Care Initiative).

The state administration had previously stressed that it will focus on organising job fairs at a larger scale at the state level and have smaller events held in state districts. This was part of its efforts to reduce the unemployment rate to 2.5 per cent in Selangor this year.
