SHAH ALAM, Feb 12 — The Selangor Book Fair 2020 (PBS2020), which begins from February 27 to March 8, offers a total cash prize of RM49,500 in a daily lucky draw event, said the Selangor Public Library Corporation.

Its director Mastura Muhamad said with a minimum purchase of RM30, nine lucky visitors will be selected each day to win RM500 prize money during the 11-day event.

“The lucky draw will be announced at 6.30pm and 8.30pm every day and we are expecting to receive about 500,000 visitors in total at this coming book fair,” she told SelangorKini today.

The opening ceremony of the PBS2020, which carries the theme ‘Let’s Read Books’ (Jom Baca Buku), will be officiated by Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on March 1.

The book fair, which provides 140 booths with 100 exhibitors from both and local companies, aims to educate the people on the reading culture.

Among the activities to look out for include the Malay ethnoscience and Islamic thinking seminars, Rubik’s cube and Hotmath challenge workshops, as well as a session by The Lost Food Project.

PBS2020 will be held at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) from 10am to 9pm on weekdays and extended to 10.30pm on weekends.
