SHAH ALAM, Feb 11 — The Selangor government is looking into offering an incentive for its athletes who will win medals in the Malaysia Deaf Games (Sopma) that will be held in June.

State Youth Generation, Sports and Human Capital Development Committee chairman Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the Selangor government has always appreciated disabled athletes who succeed at local or international sporting events.

“The state government will continue to give their support to the athletes who participate in Sopma or any other para games.

“We are also ready to help their sports association. What is important is that the athletes focus on winning the games,” he told SelangorKini today.

Johor will host the Sopma games from 22 to 27 June before the Malaysian Games (Sukma) 2020, which will be held from 11 to 29 July.

This is followed by the Para Sukma from 15 to 22 August.
