Selangor to feature in global tourism expos

By Khairul Azran Hussin

SHAH ALAM, Feb 13 — Selangor will be participating in several large-scale international tourism exhibitions throughout the year to promote the state’s tourism products.

State Culture, Tourism, Malay Customs and Heritage Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari said the expos would be a good platform for Selangor to reach its target of 8 million tourist arrivals this year.

“We will be participating in several expos including those in Berlin (Germany), Miami (the US), and Tokyo (Japan). We should not miss this opportunity as it is the focus of main industry players.

“Due to the slowdown in the tourism industry, we are confident that this move would bring a great impact on the state’s tourism sector,” he told SelangorKini today.

Selangor will be part of one of the leading international travel exhibition, the ITB Berlin, which will be held from March 4 to 8.

Meanwhile, Abdul Rashid said the state government has also implemented the Selangor Persona Tour Programme 2020 to increase the number of domestic tourists.
