SHAH ALAM, March 10 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had yesterday unveiled an automated system, or SCDA, to control high-tide flooding in the state.
Managed by the Selangor State Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), the system allows mobile control of watergate operations with the use of a computer or tablet as well as real-time monitoring.
The upgrading of the previously manual system, which was done in stages, is in line with Selangor’s direction towards becoming a smart state by 2025.
The launch of the automated system took place at the Dewan Jubli Perak, Selangor secretariat building (SUK), here, during the state administration monthly assembly, witnessed by Selangor DID director Datuk Gapar Asan.
Selangor DID has developed 14 pump houses, 360 watergates and 125 mobile pumps statewide for tidal flood mitigation.
