SHAH ALAM, March 5 — Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has been removed from the Selangor government’s administration, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amarudin Shari today.

He said this includes Bersatu members in the Selangor State Executive Council, Local Councils, Heads of Village, government-linked companies and other administrative areas.

“After recent political developments at the federal level, Selangor’s PH (Pakatan Harapan) has informed His Royal Highness (Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah) that Parti Bersatu’s administrative role in the Selangor government will cease with immediate effect. Therefore, all Bersatu leaders and members are no longer involved with the state’s administration.

“Selangor is committed to continuing our professional cooperation in line with the Federal Constitution for the betterment of our people,” he told a press conference here today.

Amirudin, who is also the Selangor PKR chairman, said his latest announcement is a sign of Selangor PH’s respect and commitment after the unprecedented mandate by the people of Selangor towards PH in 14th General Elections (GE).

Meanwhile, Selangor PH via a joint statement said that the pact will continue to support Amirudin’s leadership.

The statement was signed by Amirudin as the state PKR chief, Selangor Amanah chairman Izham Hashim and Selangor DAP chairman Gobind Singh Deo.
