Covid-19 : 108 infected in Singapore, 78 recovered

SINGAPORE, March 3 — Singapore has reported two new positive cases of Covid-19 bringing the total number of cases to 108, according to Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) yesterday.

In a statement here, MOH said one of the two new cases is linked to a new cluster at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd, bringing the total to 13 there.

The case involved a 34 year-old female Filipino national who is a Singapore Work Pass holder working in the same household as Case 102, a 41-year-old female Filipino national.

Both are foreign domestic workers to Case 101, a 61-year-old male Singapore citizen.

Meanwhile, another new case reported involved a 68-year-old female Singapore citizen who had been in Jakarta, Indonesia for four days from February 11 and she who was linked to Case 94, a 64-year-old female Singapore citizen.

Both new cases have no recent travel history to China, as well as Daegu and Cheongdo of South Korea.

Updating on the condition of confirmed cases, MOH said four more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospital yesterday, thus, in all, 78 have fully recovered.

One of the recovered patients is a 26-year-old Bangladesh national who is a Singapore Work Pass holder, linked to the cluster at Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site.

Of the 30 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, the ministry said most patients are stable or improving while six are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

As at noon yesterday, MOH has identified 3,140 close contacts who have been quarantined, of these, 2,805 have completed their quarantine.
