FAS takes proactive measures to contain Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 — The Football Association of Selangor (FAS) has implemented various preventive measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 among its players, coaches and staff.

According to FAS secretary-general Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon, all the facilities at the association’s training ground, including gymnasium, changing room, players lounge and also its office in Shah Alam have always been kept in good and clean condition.

He stressed that the FAS is fully committed to preventing the spread of the virus not only among its players and staff, but also among the people of Selangor and Malaysians in general.

“The spread of the Covid-19 virus is a matter FAS management looks into seriously. We realise that it is not a thing that we can take lightly and we will continue to work hard to ensure the safety of our players and staff,” he was quoted as saying on the FAS website;https://faselangor.my.

Despite its training ground operations temporarily shut down following the movement control order by the government, Johan said the coaching staff has issued a fitness and diet plan for all the players to keep them in good shape when the Malaysian League resumes.

“We also reminded our staff and players to follow the safety guidelines endorsed by the government of Malaysia and precautionary measures highlighted by the Malaysian Health Ministry,” he added.

He revealed that the FAS management has also issued a memo to inform all players, officials, and staff regarding the status of its office operational hours, the restriction movement order for overseas travel, as well as the interstate travel bans in order to contain the pandemic from spreading.
