Health DG: 80 healthcare staff test positive for Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — Eighty healthcare staff of the Health Ministry have tested positive for Covid-19 but none contracted the disease from managing Covid-19 positive patients, it was disclosed today.

Director-General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said all frontline healthcare personnel have been advised to take preventive measures such as keeping their hands clean at all times, practising social distancing and wearing protective apparel as specified.

He said this in a post on his Facebook account.

Dr Noor Hisham told a press conference yesterday that the major sources of the infection of the healthcare staff were a religious gathering, weddings, travel abroad and contact with family members with Covid-19.
