Malaysia Covid-19 death toll rise to 24

SHAH ALAM, March 27 — Another Covid-19 related death was recorded today, bringing the total number to 24.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on his official Facebook said the patient, case number 1,056, had passed away at 9.30 pm last night.

“The National Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CPRC) had today received a report of another (1) Covid-19 death (case 1056), which brings the total number of deaths to 24.

“Case 1,056 was a 35-year-old Malaysian citizen who had a travel record to Indonesia in early March,” he said in the statement.

Dr Noor Hisham said the deceased was admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur on March 18.

“The patient tested positive for Covid-19 on March 20. The victim’s health condition had deteriorated and was pronounced dead yesterday.

“Condolences to the family of the deceased,” said Dr Noor Hisham.

As of noon yesterday, 235 new cases have been reported, bringing the number of positive Covid-19 cases in Malaysia to 2,031, with 23 deaths.
