MBI distributes free meals to students in state varsities

SHAH ALAM, March 24 — Menteri Besar Selangor Inc (MBI Selangor) has provided free meals to students from universities under the state government through its Bisnel Charity initiative.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme was initiated under the Covid-19 Selangor Cares Package, which includes free food distribution from March 22 to 31 to students staying on campus in Universiti Selangor (Unisel), Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (Kuis), and INPENS International College.

Last Friday, Amirudin also announced an allocation of RM2.3 million for Selangor students studying in East Malaysia.

He added that Selangor students in Sarawak and Sabah who could not return home during the movement control order period would each receive a one-off allowance of RM200.

The stimulus package provides aid to the people of Selangor who are affected by the order, which was enforced to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.
