MBI staff can claim purchase of sanitisers, face masks

SHAH ALAM, March 23 — Selangor Menteri Besar Inc (MBI) allows its staff to claim for the purchase of hand sanitisers and face masks as part of its initiative to control the spread of Covid-19.

Its chief executive officer (CEO) Soffan Affendi Aminudin said the state-run company is always concerned and proactive on the need of the employees to purchase the items at present.

He said the claims can be made through the Outpatient Medical Assistance Scheme, according to the stipulated guidelines, and it should be done by April 30.

“The hand sanitiser purchase limit is 500 millimetres and a maximum purchase of RM200 for face masks,” he said in a statement today.

Soffan said each claim should include receipts of purchases made at pharmacies, clinics or supermarkets even if there is a balance in the user’s clinical card.

“This additional initiative is expected to assist workers in dealing with the spread of the virus.

“All employees are expected to continue with the security measures taken and to abide by the movement control order as announced by the Prime Minister of Malaysia (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin),” he said.
