PKNS targets sales of RM46 mil at property exhibition

SHAH ALAM, March 1 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is aiming to make RM46 million through the sales of 100 property units, during the ‘PKNS X HOMES’ exhibition to be held until March 8, at the SACC shopping mall here.

The exhibition, launched yesterday by PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain, is a rebranding of the corporation’s property collection exhibition, in its effort to boost sales.

Mohd Azizi said, with the slogan ‘Hentikan Pencarian, Inilah Penemuan’, the exhibition also introduced new initiatives, namely ‘PKNS X LINE’ and ‘PKNS X SQUAD’, to guide the public on the process of buying and selling PKNS properties.

“Even if we manage to achieve 70 per cent of sales through this exhibition, it will be sufficient given the rather slow buying trend for properties at the moment.

“Five PKNS subsidiaries, as well as banking institutions, are participating in the first series of the property sales exhibition this year to facilitate the handling of financing applications by buyers throughout the duration of the exhibition,” he told reporters after the launch here yesterday.

The five PKNS subsidiaries involved are PKNS Engineering and Construction Berhad, Selangor Industrial Corporation Sdn Bhd, Selaman Sdn Bhd, Datumcorp International Sdn Bhd and Worldwide Holdings Berhad.

According to Mohd Azizi, for promoting sales, more than five housing projects fully completed and ready for occupation were offered to buyers, in Shah Alam, Bernam Jaya, Kota Puteri, Alam Nusantara and Antara Gapi.

To encourage purchase of properties during the exhibition, PKNS is offering discounts of up to 20 per cent and free legal fees for sales and purchase agreements and stamp duties for the Memorandum of Transfer (MOT) for selected projects, he added.

“Those who purchase properties at the exhibition stand to win a grand prize through a lucky draw, a Proton X70 car worth almost RM100,000,” he added.
