Selangor to announce its second stimulus package on April 1

SHAH ALAM, March 29 — The Selangor government will be announcing the state’s second economic stimulus package, Selangor Cares Package 2.0 (Selangor Prihatin 2.0), on April 1.

Its Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that this would be an additional aid to help cushion the economic impact from the novel coronavirus pandemic.

“The focus of Selangor Cares Package 2.0 would be assistance to the people to lessen the economic impact from Covid-19,” he said on his official Twitter account today.

Amirudin had recently chaired a meeting on the second stimulus package at his official residence, here.

On March 20, Amirudin had announced the first Selangor Cares Package to several groups that are affected by the looming crisis.

The package includes seven initiatives with a total allocation of RM127.78 million, benefitting several groups including the frontliners, students, hawkers, and petty traders.
