SHAH ALAM, March 30 — The state government has yet to make a decision whether the Ramadan will be held next month, following the extension of the movement control order (MCO) until April 14.
Selangor Local Government, Public Transportation and New Village Development Committee chairman Ng Sze Han said discussions are still being held with the relevant parties and the outcome would be based on the developments of the Covid-19 outbreak.
“We are considering several aspects especially in terms of the safety of the traders, suppliers and consumers. The state government has met the licensing director of local authorities to get their views on the Ramadan bazaar operations for this year.
“The decision on the matter is expected to be announced by the Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari soon,” he told Selangorkini today.
So far, the Negeri Sembilan government is the only state to have decided that there will be no Ramadan bazaar this year.
