SHAH ALAM, March 30 — In line with the Federal government’s announcement on the implementation of tighter rules during the second phase of the movement control order (MCO), the Selangor administration will also be enforcing additional measures in the two-week period.

Its Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the decision was made following a special state security meeting held here today.

“The Selangor state secretary will coordinate with both local authorities (PBTs) and district officers, who act as the district security committee chairman.

“The state government will continue to cooperate with the National Security Council (NSC) in implementing relevant mechanisms in efforts to combat the Covid-19 outbreak,” he said in a statement today.

Amirudin reminded the people of Selangor to continue to observe the MCO.

He said he hopes to see the synergy involving the state government and relevant agencies would be further strengthened in order to break the chain of infection.

Earlier today, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that tighter measures will be enforced throughout the country in the second phase of the MCO, which will begin from April 1 to 14.

Some of the tightened measures include limited hours of all business operations from 8am to 8pm daily.
