Abiding by MOH recommendation, Selangor to reorganise big-scale events

SELAYANG, April 4 — Selangor will review and reschedule all of its public large-scale events, in line with the recommendation made by the Health Ministry for the people to avoid mass gathering.

Its Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said all parties would have to follow by the rules to safeguard the safety and health of the people.

“We will reorganise the programmes because when it comes to issues concerning the pandemic, the state government would refer to the recommendations given by the MOH,” he told the media after distributing aid to the frontliners at the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) here today.

Also present were Gombak district officer Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim, MPS president Shamsul Shahril Badliza Mohd Noor and MPS chief whip councillor Amir Fazlee Khalid.

Yesterday, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah had advised the public to avoid mass gatherings for the next six months to one year, even if the movement control order (MCO) is no longer in place.

He said the norm for Malaysians will not be the same after the MCO period to ensure that the Covid-19 infection is contained.
