KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — Selangor saw a decline in new Covid-19 positive cases yesterday, with a total of 27, in comparison to the 63 daily cases recorded on Friday.

The total tally in the state is now at 890 out of the total 3,483 cases recorded nationwide.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had urged all parties to work harder in playing their role to ensure the spread of the coronavirus is contained.

“The Covid-19 positive cases in Selangor today (Saturday) is lower than the previous day (Friday). We can reduce the number of cases if we continue to observe the authority’s guidelines as well as practising good hygiene at home.

“Let us work together to bring the number of cases down,” he said on his official Twitter account yesterday.

The death toll in Selangor stood at seven as there were no new deaths reported in the state as of noon yesterday.

The total number of fatalities in Malaysia is 57.

Selangor has the highest recorded number of cases in the country, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 595 cases, Johor (422), Sarawak (246), Sabah (225), and Negri Sembilan (220).
