SHAH ALAM, April 29 — Kuang, which is under the Gombak district, is the latest township to have recorded zero active Covid-19 cases.

Selangor now has 31 townships categorised as a green zone.

According to the data produced by the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre of the Selangor State Health Department, out of the total 1,403 recorded Covid-19 cases in the state, 167 are active cases, with a total 1,205 recoveries registered.

The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) said the Petaling district, which has seen a total of 376 confirmed cases, has a chance in becoming a green zone as the active cases have dropped to 46.

“(Continue to) abide by the MCO (movement control order). Practising safe hygiene is the best ‘vaccine’ to safeguard the health of your community,” the task force said on Twitter last night.

In a separate posting, STFC said there was an upward trend in newly recorded Covid-19 cases in the state, with five new cases yesterday compared to one case registered on Monday.

“The cases are still stable as it is a single-digit rise. Continue practising social distancing and good hygiene measures to prevent the Covid-19 infection,” it added.

The accumulated Covid-19 cases in Malaysia is 5,851 with a total of 1,719 total active cases.
