List of fake news on Covid-19 on March 31

KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 — The following are the replies by the relevant agencies to the fake news circulated on the social media in a media statement from the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia’s Quick Response Team yesterday.

1. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has denied claims that calls returned to overseas numbers beginning with +371, +375 and +381, would result in those with vested interest being able to access the caller’s personal information, bank details and credit card details.

2. The National Security Council (MKN) has denied allegations that a man who was using his handphone outside his home in Cheras Baru, Kuala Lumpur suffered injuries after being beaten up by a soldier on movement control order duty.
