BATU CAVES, April 4 — A total of 1,000 out of 1,500 packages of essential needs have been delivered to the residents in Sungai Tua since the first phase of the movement order control (MCO) was in place on March 18, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Selangor Menteri Besar said this was the first time he had scheduled a visit during the MCO period to oversee the distribution of daily necessities that are coordinated by the community service centres, the local councillors’ office and village heads.

“The delivery of supplies that are carried out in all of the state constituencies is conducted with limited movement to avoid group gatherings. A lot of the items has been delivered for retail in the morning and those given to the people are distributed in the evening,” Amirudin said in a press conference following his visit at the resident’s committee office in Zone 6, here today.

Earlier, Amirudin had also overseen the distribution operations in Zone 7 and 8.

He said the daily necessities that were distributed can last for about 10 days and were hand over directly to the recipients.

He said the replenishment of supplies would be based on the needs and that the local community leaders are allowed to use the allocated funds announced in the state stimulus package, Selangor Cares Package 2.0.
