SHAH ALAM, April 1 — The Selangor Menteri Besar will be revealing the state’s second economic stimulus package, Selangor Cares Package 2.0 (Pakej Selangor Prihatin 2.0), at 3pm today.
Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari’s announcement will be broadcasted live on Selangor TV and the Media Selangor Facebook page.
He had recently said that the second state stimulus package would provide additional aid to help cushion the economic impact from Covid-19 pandemic.
On March 20, Amirudin had announced the first Selangor Cares Package to several targetted groups that are affected by the looming crisis.
The package includes seven initiatives with a total allocation of RM127.78 million, benefitting several groups including the frontliners, students, hawkers, and petty traders.
Among the initiatives included are as follow:
1) A one-off RM200 incentive to 6,000 medical personnel stationed in the hospitals across the state.
2) Rental exemption for 80,000 licensed hawkers and traders and one-off RM500 cash aid.
3) Defer loan repayment for 40,000 entrepreneurs under the Hijrah Selangor scheme.
4) Some 2,500 students from Selangor students studying in East Malaysia to receive one-off RM200 cash aid.
5) Defer loan repayment for 2,700 tenants under the Smart Rental Scheme.
6) Increased allocation to RM30,000 for each Selangor state assemblyman to be used for community services.
7) Extension for land tax or parcel rent payment for one month, from 31 May to June 30.
