SHAH ALAM, April, 3 — The state government has set up the Selangor Covid-19 Fund and it is open to those who wish to contribute in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak.

The public can channel their support by depositing money to the Maybank Islamic account (562106684326) in Malaysian Ringgit.

The donations can be made through internet banking, cheque, Real-Time Electronic Transfer of Fund and Securities (Rentas) system, via ATM machines, and telegraphic (TT) transfer.

All donations are tax exempted under Subsection 44(6) of the Income Tax Act by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).

The IRB will accept official government receipts and various types of transfer slip, including cash transfer slip, cheque deposit machine slip and online payment slip, as well as Rentas receipt and TT receipt advice.

The fund collection was introduced by Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari when announcing the second phase of the state stimulus package, Selangor Cares 2.0, on April 1.

A total of RM8.15 million was collected on the first day it was set up, with RM250,000 contribution from state assemblymen.
