Selangor police arrest 4,555 people flouting MCO

SHAH ALAM, April 29 — The Selangor police have detained 4,555 individuals for flouting the movement control order (MCO) since it was enforced on March 18.

Selangor Covid-19 special spokesperson Asst Comm Muhammad Yazid Muhammad Yew said out of the total arrests, the police have opened 2,136 investigation papers.

Jurucakap Op Covid-19 Polis Selangor ACP Muhammad Yazid Muhammad Yew berkata daripada jumlah tersebut, sebanyak 2,136 kertas siasatan dibuka.

“The public is reminded to obey the MCO so that we can successfully contain the spread of the Covid-19 infection across the country,” he said in a statement on Facebook yesterday.

Following the increase in arrests, Muhammad Yazid said the state police have set up 99 roadblocks in Selangor.
