SHAH ALAM, April 29 — The Selangor state government has received 200,000 face shields from Tropicana Corporation Berhad (Tropicana) to be used by the frontliners battling the Covid-19 outbreak.

Its deputy chief executive officer Tan Sri Tan Chee Sing presented the contribution to Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari at his official residence here yesterday.

Amirudin said the face shields will be handed over to the state disaster relief centre to have it distributed to the frontliners.

“This initiative is a sign of their (Tropicana) active involvement in Selangor as well as a show of appreciation to the frontliners who are facing the outbreak.

“I would like to express my gratitude to those who have consistently contribute to the Selangor Covid-19 fund in various forms in the effort to fight against Covid-19,” he told SelangorKini when met yesterday.

Amirudin added that the property developer had contributed positively to the state economy with varied projects and assets that could boost the state revenue.

Tropicana is one of the companies listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad’s main market since 1992.

The company, which is based in Petaling Jaya, is also involved in property investments and investment holdings.
