Selangor waste management gets international recognition

SHAH ALAM, April 14 — The Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) has received recognition by an international certification body on the quality of its services in domestic waste collection.

Its Media and Public Relations head Mahfuzah Muhammad Tarmidi said 12 branches of the waste management company have received the ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 AJA EQS Certification, which is an established and leading management systems international certification body and training provided in Malaysia and Asia.

The KDEBWM branches to have receieved the recognition are in Klang, Ampang, Selayang, Kajang, Hulu Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Kuala Langat, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Sepang and Shah Alam.

“The certification is significant because this means that we have successfully carried out our operations throughout the five years with trust and responsibility as a smart waste management company in Selangor.

“This acknowledgement would further strengthen our vision and mission in promoting a cleaner and healthier environment, especially in the state, which is in line with our slogan,
‘Together We Keep Selangor Clean,’” she said in a statement today.

Mahfuzah said the ISO 9001 certification is of international standards on the standard operating procedure of the company, which would improve customer satisfaction, and ISO 14001 focuses on environmental standards.

“This accomplishment is part of the commitment of the company’s Quality and Compliance Department. We will be focusing on our efforts to be certified in the area of public cleansing,” she added.
