SHAH ALAM, April 7 — The Sepang district in Selangor is now the state’s fifth Covid-19 red zone or hotspot, the latest data released by the Selangor State Health Department yesterday showed.
It became a red zone after its total tally of Covid-19 cases increased from 39 cases on April 5 to 43 cases yesterday.
According to the statistics provided by the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC), the other red zones in the state are Hulu Langat with 325 Covid-19 positive cases, Petaling (297), Klang (111) and Gombak (107).
“Please don’t leave your house. If there is a need to leave your house, please take precautionary steps,” said the STFC on Twitter last night.
Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had also urged the people to observe the movement control order (MCO) in order to curb the Covid-19 outbreak.
The state registered the highest number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia, with a total of 970 of the 3,793 recorded cases nationwide.
As of yesterday noon, Malaysia also saw the highest number of recovery from Covid-19 with a total of 236 patients that have recovered and discharged.
