SHAH ALAM, April 13 — Six districts in Selangor categorised as red zones see a rise of 48 new Covid-19 cases, with the majority hike recorded in Petaling.
According to the data by the state Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), as of 10pm last night, the total tally in the six red zones are 1,154 cases — 392 cases in Hulu Langat, Petaling (359), Klang (166), Gombak (131), Sepang (61) and Hulu Selangor (45).
Kuala Selangor also saw an increase with 30 news cases, followed by Kuala Langat (27) and Sabak Bernam (21).
Overall, Selangor recorded an increase of 52 cases or 4.41 per cent out of the cumulative total of 1,232 cases, with 10 deaths registered.
A total of 1,021 patients in the state have fully recovered from the disease, and 24 cases receiving treatment under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
According to the Health Ministry, there are 26 red zones in the country, with Lembah Pantai registering the highest number of cases with a total of 496.
The ministry has set the red zone category for areas with at least 41 Covid-19 positive cases; orange zone (20-40 cases); yellow zone (1-19 cases); and green zone (no case).
