Total 1,005 recoveries, Covid-19 tally at 3,662

SHAH ALAM, April 5 — A total of 90 patients have recovered from the Covid-19 infection as of noon today, bringing the total recoveries and discharged to 1,005, or a 27.45 per cent rate.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 179 new positive Covid-19 cases were recorded, pushing the total number so far to 3,662.

“A total of 99 cases are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 48 of those needed ventilators,” he told the media today in a broadcasted daily briefing on Covid-19 at the Health Ministry in Putrajaya, today.

Dr Noor Hisham said there four new deaths, which brings the death toll to 61, or 1.67 per cent out of the total number of cases.

The reported four deaths are as follow:

Case 2,210: A 72-year-old Malaysian man, who had a history of diabetes and high blood pressure. He had close contact with a positive Covid-19 case (case 1,031). He had received treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital on March 27. He was pronounced dead yesterday at 1.37pm.

Case 3,484: A 68-year-old Malaysian man who had a history of diabetes. He was treated at Kuala Lumpur Hospital on March 27 and was pronounced dead yesterday at 3.40pm.

Case 3,073: A 53-year-old Malaysian man who was treated at Sarawak General Hospital on March 31. He was pronounced dead today at 12.39am.

Case 2,200: A 66-year-old Malaysian man who has a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney disease. He was treated at Keningau Hospital in Sabah on March 26. He was pronounced dead yesterday at 9.36pm.
