Bernas channels aid to children in need — Yide

SHAH ALAM, May 22 — Padiberas Nasional Berhad (Bernas) has sponsored 100 bags of rice to the orphanages under Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (Yide) across Selangor.

In a statement yesterday, Yide general manager Nur Mohd Razali Abdullah said the contribution plays a vital role in providing support to the children in need as they too were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This #IkhlasBernas annual initiative is a continuous effort to ensure that each welfare home receives the necessary support and have enough food supply,” the statement read.

The contribution was presented by Yide operations manager Md Arifin Bin Jaafar, yesterday.

Yide, which is a charity organisation established by Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais), had also called for the public and corporate companies to donate to the Dana Infaq Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan Fund via the Bank Islam account (1223 – 40100 – 07330).

Each contribution will be given tax deductions under subsection 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967.
