Hari Raya ‘takbir’ to be aired on Sultan Salahuddin mosque Facebook page

SHAH ALAM, May 19 — The Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque in Shah Alam will broadcast the takbir raya (calls to glorify Allah) via Facebook live, says the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) director.

Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad said mosques and suraus in the state are also encouraged to air the takbir raya on its respective Facebook page.

He had reminded Muslims in Selangor is not allowed to perform the Aidilfitri prayers at any mosques or suraus except for the imams, bilals and mosque officials on duty.

“The Muslims are to perform their Aidilfitri prayers at their homes,” he said yesterday.

Meanwhile, Mohd Shahzihan said the religious department will provide guidelines on the Aidilfitri prayers for the year as a point of reference for the Muslims.

He said the guideline can be accessed through its official website at www.jais.gov.my or  its Facebook and Instagram pages.

He had also reminded that Muslims in Selangor are not allowed to visit graves on Hari Raya Aidilfitri but should replace it with other activities at home such as tahlil ceremony.

“The cemetery managers in the state should help Jais to ensure that this restriction is complied with by the public,” he said.
