Kuala Langat first green zone district in Selangor

By Ida Nadirah Ibrahim

SHAH ALAM, May 8 — Kuala Langat is the first district in Selangor categorised as a green zone as it has recorded zero active Covid-19 cases as of noon yesterday, says the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC).

The task force said the state also saw an increase in townships classified as a green zone to 32 from 31.

“We would like to remind the public that wearing face masks when outside is compulsory under the enforced modified conditional movement control order (MCMCO).

“We also urge the people to abide by the new normal and make it as part of our daily routine,” STFC said on Facebook last night.

According to the statistics provided by the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre of the Selangor State Health Department, Bagan Nakhoda Omar and Tanjung 12 (2) are now classified as a green zone.

However, Hulu Yam was categorised as a yellow zone following one recorded positive Covid-19 case in the township.

Selangor recorded a double-digit rise in daily cases with 16 confirmed Covid-19 patients, after registering single digits for two days.

This pushes the total tally in the state to 1,580 out of the total 6,467 cases reported nationwide.

There are 222 active cases across Selangor and the death toll in the state remains at 20.
