Selangor Agro Market sales reach over RM7mil

By Nadiah Zamlus

SHAH ALAM, May 4 — The Selangor Agro Market programme has recorded RM7.37 million in total sales within 67 days since it was first launched on March 27, says the State Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman.

Izham Hashim said the state fresh market records an average daily sales of RM250,000.

“All of the Selangor Agro Markets in nine locations have recorded over 30 per cent jump in sales since it was first launched.

“The controlled fresh market in Bangi, which began its operations on April 21, had received overwhelming responses especially on the meat products,” he said.

Izham said the Bangi agro market, which provides a drive-through service, will continue running during the conditional movement control order period, which begins today.

“The people must continue keeping a safe social distance and should remain wary.

“The state government will expand the fresh market as it has proven to be beneficial for both the consumers and agropreneurs in Selangor,” he said.

The Selangor Agro Market is located in Dengkil, Puchong, Petaling Jaya, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, the Bandar Baru Bangi community business centre, Selayang farmer’s market (pasar tani), My Farm Outlet in Putrajay and in Section 13 and Section 15 in Shah Alam.

For online orders, the public can browse www.agrobazaar.com, or visit the Agro Selangor Facebook page for further information.
