SHAH ALAM, May 20 — The Selangor government has launched the Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor Ibu Tunggal (KISS IT) initiative to help 5,000 single mothers across the state, says Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

The State Health, Welfare, Women Empowerment and Family Committee chairman said KISS IT was improvised from the original programme as many single mothers were greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“A total of RM7 million has been allocated for the existing KISS initiative which would benefit those who are really in need of it.

“Single mothers who are eligible for the aid will receive a RM200 cashless aid to buy essential goods at selected shops and supermarkets identified under the programme,” she said at a press conference here today.

Dr Siti Mariah said applicants can apply for KISS IT via online at www.kiss.com.my from today onwards.

“The application will be processed within two to four weeks and the first purchase can be made in June,” she said.
