SHAH ALAM, May 19 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has expressed his appreciation to the frontliners for their sacrifices in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a Royal message via the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page, the Selangor Ruler, as well as Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, had expressed gratitude towards the frontliners who are working tirelessly around the clock to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

“Tengku Permaisuri Norashikan and I would like to express our gratitude for the sacrifices made by doctors, nurses, as well as hospital staff in exposing themselves to the risk looking after those infected by Covid-19.

“Our prayers are always with you and we hope that you will be given the strength and courage in serving the country,” said the Selangor Ruler.

The Royal couple had also extended their Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings to those working in the frontline.

Sultan Sharafuddin had recently advised the people against the common practice of physical greetings and house visits this coming Hari Raya to avoid the risk of Covid-19 infections.

Muslims across the country will be celebrating the Hari Raya festival for the first time under the conditional movement control order (CMCO), where the usual tradition of visiting relatives and friends and open houses are restricted to family members and only allowed on the first day.
