KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — Selangor sees an increase of nine new positive Covid-19 cases out of the 22 daily cases recorded nationwide yesterday.

According to the data produced by Selangor Covid-19 Operation Centre, three cases were recorded in Hulu Langat, Gombak (2), Petaling (1) and the remaining three cases were imported.

“This brings the total tally in the state to 1,636 cases with 119 active cases.

“A total of 1,450 recoveries were recorded and the death toll stands at 21,” it said.

Meanwhile, the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 said the state is still in the safe radar despite the upward trend in new cases compared to Saturday.

“Self-discipline will help reduce the number of new cases recorded daily. Failing to practice self-discipline will land us in the worst possible consequences,” STFC wrote on its Twitter account yesterday.

Malaysia saw the third-lowest recorded daily Covid-19 cases yesterday since the movement control order (MCO) came into force on March 18.

Prior to this, the second-lowest number of new positive cases was recorded on Saturday with 17 cases, while the lowest was registered on May 12 with 16 cases.

There were no Covid-19 related deaths recorded yesterday. The death toll in Malaysia remains at 113.
