Smart Selangor, PJ City Bus resume operations today

By Ashwin Kumar

SHAH ALAM, May 6 — The Smart Selangor and PJ City Bus services, which were suspended since March 24 due to the enforced movement control order (MCO), resume operations today, says Ng Sze Han.

The Selangor Local Government, Public Transport and New Village Development Committee chairman said the decision was in line with the state administration’s implementation of the modified conditional movement control order (MCMCO).

According to Ng, the bus services are scheduled from 6am to 10pm to facilitate the people commuting to work.

“The Smart Selangor Bus will operate on 36 routes with a total of 103 buses. However, seven routes, namely SPG 3, SPG 4, BTG2, SB02, SB03, HS02 and HS03, will be temporarily suspended.

“Meanwhile, PJ City Bus will operate on all six routes with a total of 16 buses,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Ng also reminded passengers and bus drivers to adhere to the guidelines set by the Health Ministry (MOH) that includes wearing face masks and adhere to social distancing.

“As a precautionary measure, the buses were sanitised and social distancing notices are stamped on passenger seats. Hand sanitisers will also be provided on the buses.

“The number of passengers per bus is also limited,” he said.

On a separate matter, Ng said a total of 20 Smart Selangor buses were used by the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) to transport Malaysians who returned from overseas, upon their arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, to the quarantine centres.
