Selangor free from Covid-19 red zone

SHAH ALAM, June 15 — Selangor is once again declared free from Covid-19 red zones since May 22, says the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC).

This is following the high number of recoveries recorded in Hulu Langat, which saw a drop in Covid-19 active cases with 11 cases recorded yesterday from the 62 cases registered on Friday.

“The high number of recoveries in Semenyih saw the township change to a yellow zone while Cheras is now a green zone as it records zero active Covid-19 cases. This makes the Hulu Langat district a yellow zone from a red zone.

“This positive development has made Selangor free from red zones since it last recorded no red zones 23 days ago,” the task force said on Facebook post last night.

Gombak and Sepang recorded the highest number of active cases with 12 cases in each district, followed by Hulu Langat and Kuala Langat each with 11 cases, Petaling (7), Kuala Selangor (4), Sabak Bernam (3), Hulu Selangor (2) and Klang (1).

Two new Covid-19 cases were reported in Selangor as of noon yesterday, pushing the cumulative figure in the state to 1,996.
