Selangor registers single-digit new Covid-19 cases

By Ida Nadirah Ibrahim

SHAH ALAM, June 3 — Selangor registers a single-digit figure in new Covid-19 cases with six infections reported as of noon yesterday.

The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 said the number of recoveries recorded was also low, with a total of four patients discharged from the hospital.

“Minimal changes were seen in active Covid-19 cases and recovery of patients in Selangor today (yesterday), as the number of new cases recorded was low.

“(Therefore), the classification of Covid-19 zones remain the same as yesterday (Monday),” the task force said on Facebook last night.

Based on the data provided by the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) of the Selangor State Health Department, Selangor has 31 townships declared as a green zone, 23 as a yellow zone, and two as a red zone, namely Semenyih and Labu.

“The new normal practices — social distancing, good personal hygiene, and wearing face masks — must be part of our daily routine and habit. Until a vaccine is found, this is the best preventive measure,” STFC added.

The six new Covid-19 cases recorded in Selangor brings the total figure in the state to 1,926 out of the total 7,877 cases recorded nationwide.
